JCB MEETS LAZYBEND SAWMILL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

JCB Industrial, part of Eqstra Industrial Equipment (“EIE”), has completed handover of a JCB Loadall 540-70 SWAY to Lazybend Sawmill, a leading supplier of wet off saw timber for packaging, pallets and skidboards, based in Mpumalanga, South Africa.

In line with EIE’s comprehensive pre- and post-sales client support service, the telehandler was recommended to Lazybend Sawmill following intensive client interaction and a site survey by JCB Industrial, in which safety was identified as a priority.

An embodiment of JCB’s advanced telehandler concept, the machine offers a range of features that ensure an extremely stable machine with exceptional visibility and manouevrability.  With the telehandler sitting on a rugged chassis designed for load-bearing and stability, its boom is mounted low in the chassis, providing an extremely rigid structure and maximum over-the-shoulder visibility.    A lower bonnet line has been made possible as the EcoMAX engine does not use a diesel filter, while the cab is Roll Over Protection System (ROPS) and Falling Objects Protection System (FOPS) certified. The sway frames enable an operator to make the telehandler absolutely level before commencing lifting.   To protect bystanders, a reverse alarm is standard-fit and a switch disables drive mode when the operator is not seated, preventing accidental operation.

The economical and productive JCB Dieselmax Tier 3 63kW engine. Combining compact dimensions with a long reach, the machine has three selectable steer modes, a 4000 kg maximum lift capacity and 600 kg capacity at full reach. A quick hitch system for attachments is standard.

“In winning this award, our competitive costing, safety features and trade-in value on the existing machines, were supported by our ability to select exactly the right machine specifications for the application,” says Michelle Labuschagne, JCB Industrial Product Manager. “Client feedback is testimony to our commitment to providing the right product, ‘yellow metal ‘ in this case, combined with an exceptional standard of service and professionalism of handover.”

As one of its suite of best-in-class brands, EIE markets a wide range of JCB products to the Southern African industry, including the JCB Teletruk, Rough Terrain Forklift and Telescopic Handler. In line with its commitment to forging partnerships for life with its customers, EIE offers flexible sale and rental options and fully supports its JCB users over the complete product lifecycle. This ranges from financing assistance, to maintenance contracts, operator and maintenance staff training and spares as well as aftermarket support.
