Having invented the forklift in 1917, Clark prides itself in its vast experience in designing and manufacturing world-class forklifts.
During the war years of the 1940’s, Clark supplied almost 90 percent of the Allied Forces’ requirements for material handling equipment. During World War II, it was said that there was no airfield under Allied control that did not have a Clark fork truck or tractor. By the postwar period, Clark was so well known that “Clark” and “Forklift” had become synonymous.
Clark has assembly operations in two continents and dealer locations worldwide, and continues to introduce and improve advanced lift trucks. In 1996 Clark became an independent company, separate from any group. Today Clark operates one of the most up-to-date production plants for forklifts worldwide, consisting of 20,000 square feet of covered production area.
